Overview

The laser engraver is an ideal way of custom marking parts made of made of many materials. To engrave a part all you have to do is draw the graphic in a suitable computer program (CorelDRAW and Adobe Illustrator(PC) are the two most common), insert the article to be marked into the Laser, and send the drawing to the Laser. In minutes your drawing is engraved onto the part. To create identical engravings all you have to do is keep inserting parts into the machine.

With our Laser engraving service we can quickly create engraved parts with graphics, part numbers, text, logos, and even photographs.

How to

The process starts with a drawing of your part(s) in a file format that the Laser can understand. Usable formats include .eps, .cdr, .ai, .bmp, and many other file formats. If you do not have a computer drawing of your part you can mail or email a drawing or sketch along with the required sizes and we can draw it for you.

Once you have a design you can email it to us and we will send you an estimate of the costs. Upon receiving your approval and payment in full we will engrave your parts and ship them to you.

Tips for Preparing Files for Laser Engraving

The largest part we can engrave is 18" X 32". If the part doesn't fit in an 18" X 32" box in your drawing program it will not fit in the Laser either!

Text, thick lines, bit maps, and fills (shaded areas) will be engraved. Note that if a shaded figure has a thin outline the laser will engrave the area and then cut along the outline, this is useful for cutting and engraving parts at the same time.

Limitations

The largest part we can laser engrave is 18" X 32".

Different materials react differently when laser engraved. In general organic materials turn darker when engraved (wood, wood composites, paper, cloth, and card) and inorganic materials tend to turn lighter. Please note that this is only a general rule of thumb. To see how your material looks when engraved please send a small piece of your material (and return postage) and we will make a sample for you.
